Forest Walk explores ideas surrounding the collapse of time, space and place within our own memories. These works achieve this end through a digital and visual reconstruction of experience via a series of elaborately false and fictionalized images created using a process emerging from heavy digital, post-production manipulation. These methods, conceived using custom designed software, deny, in this instance, the privileged iconic images of the West we’re so familiar with, works by artists like Ansel Adams, and instead investigate a new hyper-condensed external world that is at once both more true and false.
